Elizabeth (Betsy) Cauble
PhD, MSW, CE Director Preferra
Betsy retired from Kansas State University in May 2019. During her 25 years at KSU, Dr. Cauble taught every course in the social work curriculum. Her prior experience includes serving as a child welfare administrator at Franklin County Children's Services in Columbus, Ohio, as director of a hospital social work department, as a family therapist, custody mediator, research project director, and foster parent.
Dr. Cauble is one of Preferra’s champions in developing risk management content, the CE Director and presenter for Preferra’s Risk Management Education Program, and a board member.
Dr. Tim Davis is the Chair of the Department of Social Work at Fort Hays State University. Dr. Davis attended FHSU as a first generation college student, and received a BA in Sociology, emphasizing in criminal justice, and a minor in political science. He received a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from The University of Kansas with a concentration in clinical social work. He earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Northcentral University with an emphasis in health psychology-behavioral medicine. He is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in the State of Kansas.
Dr. Davis has an extensive practice history in mental health, and continues to be active in clinical practice at HaysMed, where he specializes in bio-psycho-social assessment, individual and family psychotherapy, and consultation to the medical staff as an expert in behavioral health. Dr. Davis is very involved in developing and enhancing the practice of social work. In this capacity, he has served on multiple state level boards and advisory councils. He joined the Preferra’s Risk Management Education Program on 2025.
Emily Donovan
LISW, BCBA, Licensed Social Work Consultant, Preferra
Emily is a board-certified behavior analyst with over 20 years of school social work experience, assessing, modeling, and coaching intensive intervention plans for students with behavior and developmental disabilities.
Emily works in private practice with educators and parents who want more tools to address challenging behavior in the classroom, home, or community. Her expertise and interest center around restorative practices, adult resiliency and self-care, parent advocacy and support with challenging behavior, and coaching and mentoring for educators, behavior interventionists, school psychologists, and school social workers.
Emily is the Licensed Social Work Consultant and Preferra’s Risk Management Education Program presenter.
